Runner doing injury prevention training for runners

Proactive injury prevention for runners: strength and mobility work built to keep you training, not recovering.

Understanding Injury Prevention for Runners

Most athletes only see a physical therapist after something already hurts. Injury prevention for runners flips that around: we look at how you move right now, uncover the small mechanical issues, muscle imbalances, and movement patterns that tend to turn into bigger problems, and address them before they take you out of training.

Benefits of Injury Prevention

Fewer Setbacks

Fewer missed training days and less time spent rebuilding from scratch after an injury.

Built for Your Sport

A stronger foundation for the specific demands of running, lifting, or whatever you compete in.

Smarter Training

Safer, more confident increases in training load and intensity.

Longevity

A longer, more consistent athletic career with less wear and tear over time.

Our Injury Prevention Process

1. Initial Movement Assessment

We evaluate your strength, mobility, and (when relevant) run a 3D gait analysis to build a full picture of how you actually move.

2. Personalized Plan

We build a targeted plan of corrective exercises and strength work around your specific sport and training load.

3. Hands-On Coaching

You’ll work directly with Kenny to build proper mechanics and muscle activation, not just get handed a sheet of exercises to figure out on your own.

4. Progress Monitoring

We regularly reassess your movement to track improvement, catch new issues early, and adjust your plan as you get stronger.

Common Issues We Address

  • Poor movement patterns and compensations
  • Muscle imbalances between sides or muscle groups
  • Abnormalities in running or walking gait
  • Improper lifting or training technique

Built Into Your Everyday

Injury prevention doesn’t stop when you leave the clinic. Every plan comes with exercises and cues you can carry into training, work, and daily life, so the changes actually stick instead of reverting the moment you walk out the door.

Why Unlimited Potential Performance Therapy

Every injury prevention plan at Unlimited Potential Performance Therapy is one-on-one and unhurried — built around your body, your sport, and your goals, not a generic template. Idaho is a direct access state, so you don’t need a physician referral to get started.
